🎉Congratulations to Mr. John Scott for being selected as our March Redbird Staff Member of the Month! He begins his day early, before all staff and students arrive at school, to make sure the building is ready to go. He directs morning arrival and is on-call all day to help where needed. We are lucky to have him in our Redbird Family!

'Birds Don't Bully! We kicked off our 'Birds Don't Bully campaign today with two assemblies led by BMX Champion Matt Wilhelm. Mr. Wilhelm spoke to our students about never giving up, hard work pays off, and he gave his personal story as an anti-bullying message. If you are interested in showing your anti-bullying support, you can purchase the t-shirt pictured from the link below:

🎉🏆💪STATE BOUND! Dalton DeLong takes 4th place at sectionals to qualify for the state tournament next weekend at NIU in DeKalb. After receiving a first round bye, Dalton went 2-2 on the day. The day was highlighted by him pinning his opponent in what is known as the blood round to qualify for state. Addie Avilez, Hudson Clay and Kimari Nelson-Smith fell short after great seasons!

Snow Day- No School Today, Friday, January 12. This is not an E Learning Day, it's a traditional snow day that will be made up at the end of the school year. A decision will be made regarding afternoon activities around lunchtime.
Today is the day many of the kids have been waiting for. I've been asked no less than a couple hundred times this week by my own kids and those from both buildings if we would have a snow day at some point. I hope the rain today holds off and kids can get outside and enjoy a good old fashion snow day. Stay safe and we'll see you next week.
